Modbook is a company that attempted to create a tablet that would run like a Macbook Pro, using the Mac OSX. However, after the iPad was released by Apple in 2010 and the banks crashed, the company spent most of its time rebuilding from near bankruptcy. Thankfully, the company kept after their dream of a tablet computer and they now have one ready to ship.
The Modbook Pro sports a 13.3 inch screen, one of the largest if not the largest on the tablet market at this time. Additionally, this pen-based tablet packs a punch. Designed to be a computer, the 1.15 inch thick tablet carries 4GB of RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and an NVIDIA 9600M GT graphics card. However, there is a catch. At the bank-breaking price of $5000, the tablet is out of reach of most potential buyers. Though expensive, the Modbook Pro could provide a portable solution for hardworking businessmen or businesswomen who need to work on the move. In conclusion, though a great tablet with a gorgeous screen and good specs, its large price-tag and thickness are hinderances to potential buyers.
