Apple’s newest update to their mobile operating system has new features galore. First and most importantly, Apple is bringing Siri to all of its devices. Thats right, ALL. So now your old 3GS or your iPad can run Apple’s well-known voice assistant Siri. Apple has updated their maps to add turn-by-turn navigation, something that should have been added long ago. Instead of the silly “step 1,2,3″ directions, the map application actually acts like a GPS and gives you real time turn notification.
Apple has also added a new app to the mix, Passbook. Passbook is meant to act like a virtual coupon and savings card. For clarification, Passbook is not a credit card, it contains your Target, BestBuy, Starbucks, etc. loyalty cards so that you don’t have to shuffle through your wallet to find them. Passbook will also allow you to purchase tickets and board a plane using your phone. Apple enhanced their Phone application in iOS 6, allowing you to send a pre-made message like “I’m busy. Call you later.” to someone you declined a call to. The Phone app will also remind you to call them back later if you so choose. That about wraps it up for iOS 6, a new mobile operating system that is sure to have iPhone users singing praises.
